Yes, and she was lovely - great voice, always looked cheerful, then all went quiet.

Wasn't she involved with Ambrose, the leader of the Band she sang with? When he died she just seemed to give up. Lovely voice.

I remember her, she was always on the Billy Cotton show on a sunday night, she had a breakdown years ago I recall.

Aaah...an era is ending.
Our family name for her was drippy lips - she used to wear deep red lipstick with trowels of lip gloss on top- like she'd been freshly varnished.
And there was a tale that she had to be carried into place on stage because her sequin frocks were too tight to walk in....

Billy Cotton's Bandshow was a family tradition, we all sat and watched. Remember her well and Secret Love is one of those songs I like to singalong to at the top of my voice, it was on the radio (Gold) earlier this week.

I do indeed - her picture was on a Eurovision singers quiz last week - I was one of the few people who could identify her!

I remember Secret Love but soon discovered that was originally by Doris Day; however her version is very good.

I remember her always keep licking those glossy lips.Yes she couldnt move without Ambrose there was a quite a bit of gossip at the time, when he died I think she got his money and didnt have to work after that. Saw something that they were about to make a tv movie of her life, she had a nice voice and was very popular.RIP.
