living with hep b

i was diagnosed with hep b around 6-7 months ago, i am not a drug user , it was viral hep b and doctor in tenerife told me it was because of alcaholism, my doc in uk said it was viral and he is sending me to hypotology next few weeks, in the acute stage ive been drinking heavily albeit only beer, i havent drunk spirits in 15-20 years, i enjoy beer and find it hard to stop. i had a scan type of thing for my liver , doctor put gel on my stomach and looked at my liver for signs of damage but found none, thats not to say there wont be if i continue to drink, what i want to know is, since im in acute stage and not chronic ( i dont think) will it be harder to rid the hep b virus if ive been drinking this last 3-4 months ( only beer) ive read on iinternet that 90% of adults that get hep b viral clear the virus after 6 months and become immune. so since ive been drinking in the acute stage ( first 6 months ) is it going to be much harder for me to clear ? or will i clear it if my immune system has remained strong, i have felt in veryy good health this last 6 months apart from the jaundice/weakness/sickness 6-7 mths ago when i first got it. btw i do not know how i got it.

your liver needs tlc....it doesn't need to be trying to clear extra unnecessary toxins.... if you can't stop at least try to cut right down and ask for a referral as it is likely any centre big enough to have a hepatologist will have an alcohol cessation worker.

Where will you be seeing this hepatologist?

going to hep specialist next week hopefully in city hospital, will find out if im chronic or not then. thanks
