Its hubby's birthday today and he is not a well person &has lost his sight thru diabetes, he decided he would like to try a new Japanese restaurant that has open locally and it wouldnt be too far to go. I looked them up on the net to see the menu and whether it was licensed premises only to find they dont open on Sundays !
So later on we decide to go instead to a posh Chinky in Docklands that overlooks City airport runway, got them on the net, then rang them to book a table for 7.30pm only be told they are closed for a wedding !
Good job we both stil have a good sense of humour & can see the funny side of it,we have decided to stay home and go the Japanese tomorrow.
Its not the first time things like this have happened we went to go to our loal Greek taverna once and it had closed six months before and we had never noticed and another time we drove all the way from Essex to Colindale to go to the Zen restaurant in a Japanese complex only to find the whole complex had closed down ! Another time I bought tickets for a Symphony In the Park concert and we arrived the day after the concert and couldnt understand why the stage wasnt ready of course they were dismantling it not putting it up !
it must be us ????

.....and the moral of the story is...........eat English!
Oh, poor you, good to have a sense of humour, I hope you both enjoy your Japanese meal tomorrow.
You are so right to just let these things wash over you, have a great evening together and a lovely meal out tomorrow.

♫ Happy Birthday Mr DeeSa ♫

Well, the next time you want a Japanese restaurant in the south Essex area (with good reviews, and open on Sundays), why not head into to Romford?

I was seriously criticised on here a few weeks back for referring to a "Chinky"
Yes Mike................are you really Prince Phillip?
Mike:
If you'd been on the same 'racial awareness' course that I attended (organised by two Afro-Caribbean gentleman, on behalf of Sheffield City Council) you would have known better. We were told, most emphatically, that all 'non-white' people (including those from the Far East) must ONLY ever be referred to as 'black'.

I didnt mean any offence to anyone by refering a chinese meal as a" C", I am a Londoner [ am I allowed to say cockney ?] and thats what its always been called round these parts.
Ive always called them Chinkies (Chinese Meal) as well, I don't see it as being derogatory in the least!! Ive never heard of anybody being offended by it.

Chris I did not know there was a Japanese restaurant in the Romford Brewery complex, just looked at it but I dont think they are open on Sunday neither ! wouldnt choose Romford to go to at night, too many stabbings and night clubs plus you will get mugged in their car park. I once went by car to pick a pal up from Romford station on one of the last trains, had to park up & walk it was really scary wouldnt do that again in a hurry.
Happy Birthday, Francisco! I think some birthdays are just like that. My birthdays have always been a tad chaotic. stranded at airports, unexpected rains on an open terrace party, cake disasters...lol But i always find them interesting.
Dee Sa:
Cosmo is open from 1200 to 2230 on Sundays. (It's on the right-hand-side of the link I gave you). So you could go there earlier on.
