Hello peeps!

I just want to let all my lovely AB friends know that Halifax son is now 14 (year 9) and has had lots of GCSE tests (early because his school is a top-rated state school and they encourage peeps to take GCSEs early) and he has achieved C-B passes in english n maths, but he got an A star in religious!!!

I don't mean to show off, but I'm soooooo proud of him - he's had so much sheet in his past few years - I'm just so proud that he's beaten all them sad bullies and is doing so well. We don't have money - he is my shining light - with everythin else going on, I just wanted to let you, my friends, know that he is blossoming!

Rachel, good on you for being such a good mum. My daughter is also 14 and her name is also Rachel and she's doing great at school too. Aren't kids fab? They get such bad press, but all my daughter's pals are so much more thoughtful, tolerant and intelligent than anyone I knew at that age. Hope your son continues to do you proud x

Hi Karen

Thank you so much, it's lovely to hear from another mum, and it's so good to hear your daughter (great name, btw!) is doing so well. You must be, and should be, so proud!
TBH, I've really struggled these past few years - son got bullied beyond belief, it made me doubt the whole school system, in fact, I took him out of school completely for a year before I got him into his current school on appeal.
But, he is, as your daughter is, such a lovely person - genuine, compassionate and caring - makes me think this is the reason I'm here!

lots of love to you and Rachel x
My daughter constantly amazes me - she doesn't care about being in with the in crowd and never has and I've only seen her angry twice in my life. Even her teachers all comment on how she is her own person. I hope your son is past all of his problems and continues to blossom and do his mum proud :)

He made me cry today - he said "mum, the kids in my year always come to me when they've got a problem, they talk to me and I just listen"

he's just so lovely! *starts crying like a big baby*

lol
Awww, that's lovely! Bless him :)
well done to Halifax junior! It's great that he has overcome his problems and turned into such a lovely young man. To me that is even more a thing to be proud of than his fantastic academic achievements. It goes to show that there are some lovely teenagers out there despite the bad press they all get. I am sure that he and Karen's daughter have a fantastic future ahead of them. x

I have Daisy and I am. I'm not the type of person to show off, he's been through so much, I'm just so proud of him. :-)
