according to the man from volvo a few weeks ago deisel only works out cheaper if you do about 12-15,000 miles so you are right on the borderline with that one too
http://www.thedieselpage.com/mileage.htm has some good points in it. For town driving I'd rather have the gas; for road and trailer use the diesel. I have to plug my block heater in on my truck because it gets so cold here and that might be a consideration for you, too.
Aren't you in the US cowtipper? The cars there are a bit different to uk in this size range, I know my brother in NC runs a 3.2 litre and similar here would be 2 litre. Plus your fuel is a lot cheaper lol
I dunno if I'd call it cheap. It costs me about $130 to fill the pickup for about 500 miles of driving. Are you talking about horsepower to weight ratio?
I pay equivalent of $100 for 400 miles in my car. I've found a comparison site that reckons I could break even petrol v diesel in 18000 miles, maybe it would be worth looking at petrol after all. Thanks
