Washing machine load - a handy guide?
13 Answers
I have just purchased a new washing machine (7kg max load).
Does anybody know of a website which gives a rough guide as to how many items of clothing / towels etc constitute a load?
I have done a search on Google, but drawn a blank.
Before you all poke fun at me, no I do not have a set of scales at home to weigh my washing load; and there is no guidance in the instruction manual or on the manufacturers website.
Many thanks

I just shove stuff in until there is a wee bit of space left at the top to allow it to move about. That seems to work for me. I don't really differentiate between heavy stuff and light stuff, it's all just volume to me.
I wish I could discipline myself to leave a little more room in my machine; I do as others do and shove it in until theres a bit of wriggle room at the top. Occaisionally if I've loaded if too heavily it creases up or doesn't rinse properly and I have to be more careful,l but with normal towels, clothes and bed linen I don't think its really possible to overload as far as weight goes.
