Question Author
i am thinking of filling it in with fake names and numbers
Same here, and HSBC. Funny thing is, I've never banked with either of them.
Argh! A friend thought this email was for real, completed it and returned it. :(

hope your joking
ive got a few banks looking after me lol im looking after me too by reporting these scammers to the actual banks !!
I seem to be 'looked after' by lots of American banks as well ;-)
Question Author
the one good thing about being skint is no bu**er can nick it
Please send it to the bank concerned - they have a 'phishing' email address. If we all send these scam emails to the respective banks, it helps them to trace where they're coming from. DON'T reply to the email as they them know they have got a valid email address and you will be inundated with spam.
I'm not joking at all. She lost £400 - she contacted the bank, had her cards stopped etc then finally clicked what had happened.

then my bank wonder why i will not use internet banking
I do use 3 online banks, but I know they will never email me...............
Err, internet banking is only a problem if you give your details away. Any message addressed Dear Customer please give us your details, written in poor English, will be a fake. It just ends up ineh spam box so you may never see them
forward to [email protected]

thank you ruthann will send it to them
I've had a couple from Paypal telling me that my Paypal account couldn't authorise my purchase and asking me to sign in and give my details again. I didn't of course and forwarded the e mail to Paypal's phishing site. I got a very nice reply from them which basically endorsed what helly-welly said by asking me to send any other stupid and criminal e mails to them. Their site is [email protected]
I've had "all of the above" - and I just forward them straight to the banks' phishing report addresses, I've got quite a long list now.

What I was really glad about yesterday was a long email from someone in America saying there had been trouble remitting money to me, and could I just reply to verify my details? - yeah, right ;-)
DrFilth, don't reply with wrong details, it's your email address they have - if you reply they'll know it's a live account, rubbish details or not.
