Blaster worm ?

On my other laptop I appear to have a blaster worm. A page crops up advertising a Mal-ware program but it wont clear until I PAY.

That in itself tells me something is wrong as it wont allow me anywhere on the PC other than this Mal-ware box. Its telling me there are 47 infections.

Anyone know how I can get rid of the pop up to apply the Microsoft tool to remove the virus.

Everything is blocked by it other than my email?

You can't do that here .. Sounds similar to smss virus.
You will need to learn PDQ how to use RKill, HijackThis, Combofix and poss lspfix.
Have you done a full scan with System Restore OFF?

I have it sorted now. I did a search on this site and found the question had cropped up before. On advice found there I did a system restore and its now fixed.

I was totally unable to access anything before, or I would have tried other things;

Meant to add I did a reboot in safe mode. Never dared attemp that before but found it very helpful.
