I've asked around, but nobody seems to know this. Perhaps it has something to do with yellow being the most uncommon colour for dust, so the other colours show up better on it? Or yellow being a "clean" colour that attracts customers. Maybe someone with an extensive knowledge of dusters can tell you.

It's amazing how seriously the author wrote about "why dusters are yellow"!

But surely in regard to the "matching the beewax colour" you would wont one which shows yous the wax, not hides it?
