white rose

Could someone help me to identify a rose, please? I bought it a few years ago, probably between 2002 - 2006. It's a pure white HT, lightly perfumed.
It was a Rose of the year, but not, I think, the outright winner as I seem to remember it was advertised as 'one of the roses of the year'. I don't remember whether it was a David Austin rose, as I got it from a garden centre, but I'm sure it was a well-known rose producer. I have googled, but no luck so far; I'm fairly sure I would remember the name if I saw it.
It's the only one of the roses in my garden that I can't name, and it's te most important one as I bought it specifically to remember my mother, who came from Yorkshire.

the only recent white HT I can think of is Pope John Paul but there are a number of off white and slightly blush ones..

Thanks rowanwitch - but for various reasons I definitely wouldn't have bought one called Pope John Paul....

just looked at a few lists Akito is another possible or possibly bianca butthey are really florists roses I wouldn't have thought they'd be sold for a normal garden.

Diamond but that might be too recent...and Margaret Merrill has been around for ages and is more highly scented and Ice Cream but thats like cornish ice-cream in the centre

It's definitely a very normal garden! It might be a good idea for me to take a photo and try to upload it (I'm not very good at up-loading), but will have to wait a day or two as one bloom is overblown and the others are still buds.

it would help..I'll check back in a few days... info about height, and the colour of the young leaves would help too...and how thorny is it?
