ACER NETBOOK - SCREEN PROBLEM

Can anyone help me?
The screen on my netbook is playing up,only one side seems to be working and the side that is working has a "cracked" effect through it.

Sounds like you have cracked the screen! Turn it off and see if you can see any cracks under bright light - if you can, it will need a new screen.

Not too difficult to fit one if you've got the skill/confidence but the replacement screens I have bought recently have been around £70-80. Possibly cheaper off eBay.

The same thing happened to our Acer laptop. It was fine when it was turned off in the morning when we went to work but cracked when we got home. There is no way anything happened to it - it really was spontaneous. We searched the web and found multiple examples of this so it is clearly an inherent fault. We returned it to the shop we brought it from with a letter explaining this and screen shots of other people reporting on the web and they sent it off to Acer to replace the screen free of charge.
