Pont-aven in south Brittany,a delightful quiet spot.It's a tiny town at the head of a river estuary, between wooded hills. A favourite spot for painters, poets and artists of all kind.Lovely thatched inn overlooking the river, wonderful walks up through the Bois d'amour to the Tremolat chapel which has the crucifix which inspired Gauguin.
