24 of my family members are going to Flamingoland for the weekend. Not really my cup of tea, but I do like the zoo there.
Anyhoo.....what are you all doing this Bank Holiday weekend?

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, my fiancés sister and her family are over from Australia for a while and this weekend we are going to Norfolk to see them.. My fiancé hasn't seen his sister for 13 years and be has never met a couple of his nieces and they have never met his son :-) so family reunion going on there! Also, his sisters oldest daughter is 21 next week so we are having a party on Saturday night for her!
Really excited for my fiancé but really nervous too as hoping they like me!!

Wiggal, how fab for your fiance to be seeing sis after all that time. Hope you all have a great party. I'm sure they'll like you....just be yourself.
Chris, I hope the rain holds off for that trip.
Lore, put your feet up this weekend...build up your strength for the week with the folks. If they're anything like mine, you'll end up feeling like you've gone ten rounds with Joe Bugner. :o)
Thanks for your good wishes, peeps. x

It's good if the animals are looked after well mrschappie but I still wouldnt be able to go see them. The tiger looked so sad in his cage I nearly cried and the gorilla that was there looked devastated and kept jumping up freaking out. I would prefer never to see animals than see them locked up, but each to their own :)
Safiya, how long ago was it when you went to Flamingoland? I've never seen a tiger in a cage there. The tiger that's there has a huge enclosure....nothing like a cage. And I've not seen a gorilla, but there is a chimpanzee island which is a good size.
Flamingoland changed from zoo-type enclosures to semi-parkland enclosures many years ago. They now have elevated walkways to enable you to look down onto wooded enclosures and see the animals roaming in spacious surroundings. By the sound of things, it has changed a lot since you last visited.
