For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I wouldn't recommend moving any applications (like Word etc.) unless you uninstall them and then reinstall them on the D: drive. In my experience (more so on a desktop rather than a laptop) it is best to keep applications on your C: drive but use the D: drive to store files, photos, music etc.
By the way, if you hold down the SHIFT key while dragging files/folders, they will move rather than copy. (If you DO want to copy something - hold down the CTRL key while dragging across).
