Buy a 1kg bag of frozen cassarole veg from supermarket, simmer it with a couple of veg stock pots until soft then run half of it through a blender. Put it all back in one pan. You now have some delicious home made veg soup that has hardly any calories, cost about a quid to make and will last 2 or 3 days.

WeightWatchers used to advocate their home made veg soup (don`t know if they still do) for the reasons you say. It`s much healthier too as you can regulate the amount of salt that goes into it.
Thanksd. I always found veg soup of that nature useful when I'd already come close to my intake limit for the day. Back when I was really trying to lose that iis.
should´nt it be lose weight, not loose?
And stick some cream in to make it nicer :-)
It has to be made loose if it is to drop off.
and how much liquid would you add to 1k of frozen veg ?

I use 2 of those veg Knorr stock pots which I add one and a half litres of boiling water.
Thanks Dave

I'm not on a diet but thought it looked interesting when catering for one

I thought I'd replied to this earlier but maybe in a senior moment I omitted to 'submit'

I make loads of soups and broths using things like butter beans and mushy peas to thicken them great in the evening when you get in from work and can't be bothered to cook a proper meal.
i dont know how fattening it is but sometimes when i do this i add a cuppasoup or 2 to the mix just to give a hint of the flavour...its tasty...
