Asylum seeker sent back to Libya.

Something not quite right about this affair, and I don't mean why didn't she seek asylum in Britain.

Although she was dragged away from foreign reporters by Libyan government minders, she was then not heard of for several days, only to reappear in Tunisia and later Qatar.

She has now been sent back to Libya, "she should have been allowed to stay in Qatar, and her deportation runs contrary to international law", says a spokesperson of the UN refugee agency.

Why didn't she stay in Tunisia?

Interesting to note however, why did the Guardian find it necessary to include in this story, the two paragraphs beginning 'Meanwhile Nato continued its relentless nightly bombing raids'? totally unnecessary, in my opinion.

I agree theres something not quite right. I read somewhere earlier that her removal was requested by the NTC rep in Qatar, that she has made a complaint against the treatment of her and her family by the Qatar security forces and that they were violently removed by female armed forces. Apparently she is safe though. If I can remember where I saw it I will give a link, but I go all over the place so may not find it again sorry.

I doubt if even the most hard hearted would have denied her asylum here

I most certainly would have, making me among the most hard hearted.

There are countless places between Libya and here which are "safe havens" where she could claim asylum. The UK is full up and broke and is struggling to sustain the people already here.
