If there was any chance of Drogba playing for England, my argument would be the same. The circumstances in cricket are different inasmuch as the county game is used in part as a springboard towards playing for the National side. Pietersen joined Surrey to help him with his form which was threatening to keep him out of the England side. The ploy hasn't worked, and with Surrey having a good crop of youngsters coming through the ranks, I would get rid now.
