I found it so, still battling.... but many people do, stick with it!
Actually yes... its something to do with hormone shifts but the effect doesn't last and once past the menopause if you are otherwise fit it should be easier ( but because some women slow down in late middle age it only seems harder) But at this point the way fat is deposited tends to change to a more male pattern of abdominal fat rather than on our curvy bits
Yes is the short answer ilovemarkb...I found and find..it is much much harder to lose...and then keep off.

thanks guys! i'll soldier on! i'm 5"3 and 12stone and 7lbs. I'm at uni and placements and mostly take sandwiches which i'm sick to death of....but with no microwave, oven etc i'm stuck for idea,s and end up eating sandwiches with low fat bar and fruit every day.
try a bag of veggie sticks and mini pots of houmous
Yes, I thought it was to do with metabolic changes. But I'm no expert. I found it fairly easy in my late-twenties, harder in my thirties and now in my forties I don't give a s##t because it's too hard :-)
It is harder when you get older as you are likely to be more sedentary. And health issues may prevent you from running the 3 minute mile.

On the plus side your appetite may reduce, allowing you to fancy just the high calorie stuff.
Unfortunately, for a lot of people bread is one of the main causes of weight problems, holds fluids in the body as well so that doesn't help. If you could try to cut out the bread you might find it a little easier to lose the weight (with exercise etc etc) though I realise cutting out bread when you have to have lunch out is very difficult to do. Best of luck though, I hope you manage it.
Your mtabolic rate reduces with age so you should need to eat less, if you keep the same diet and reduce the amount of exercise you will put on weight. Try small weekly reductions in what you eat and replace the bad stuff (fatty) for fruit etc.
