does anyone know of any websites where you can download pretty much any music track safely? i've got an itunes account but it's quite limited and there's a couple of tracks that i really want but can't find. i don't want to download illegally, i'm happy to pay for the tracks

www.spotify.com allows you to download any track on there for free. Just choose the track you want, set your PC to record from output and press play on Spotify. Hey Presto! one song. All legal too amazingly.

I constantly find my band's stuff up there, and stuff from other artists on the same label - I don't recall ever giving them permission... :-)

Since PRS intervened with YouTube I've noticed popular recordings have tracks erased.

Websites for music downloads dunno any really good ones, but lately I've been using some Audials piece of software to get my fix of mp3 music downloads:

It actually records music from internet streaming radios and can convert web radios to mp3 tracks for offline listening or for transfer to my devices.

There's a huge number of online streaming radios round the internet so you can actually find and record any kind of music from web radios with this one, probably even the ones u weren't able to find.

It's pretty safe just as long as you don't share the mp3s anywhere and keep the music only for personal use, I suppose.
