Only thing i thought was that they had got the anagram wrong . Thought it was Lawrence

Hi mozzie

To groove spirally = RIFLE

I have'nt got weancare myself Valerieb1254 thought it was lawrence but i have spoken to the complier and the letters are correct so i am still looking

I still think my suggestion that the 'wean care' question referred to the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore was the best answer! (But then, I would, wouldn't I?) Seriously, when do we finally find out?

thanks everyone, how does the babe ruth museum fit?
Wean Care = ECW Arena (South Philadelphia)
Assuming that the ECW Arena is the right answer, which is very likely, there's probably little point in bothering you with my idea re Babe Ruth, Mozzie, but here was my thinking.
Apparently, the original clue did not state that it was an anagram, so - given that no-one seemed able to come up with an anagrammatic answer at the time, as far as I saw - I thought it might just be the two words 'wean' and 'care'. Despite the fact that all the answers were towns or places of interest in the USA, the quiz the question was in was apparently created in Britain.
In northern parts of Britain a 'wean' is a babe and one meaning of 'care' is the word 'ruth', as in 'ruthless' = without a care.
Hence, Babe Ruth, whose museum in Baltimore was close to the designated area. At least I'd heard of Babe Ruth...I wonder how many Brits have ever heard of the ECW Arena. Cheers

Hi Quizmonster  -  For more info refer to Olivia's 'Sweet Tooth Query' dated 30/9/05 (#147965, page 2). Regardz, ja

thanks so much for all your help, and thanks for the explanation quizmonster!
Ah! Of course, I hadn't seen your earlier response, Ja, on the 'Sweet Tooth' thread, as I obviously had no idea that might contain a reference to the 'wean care' situation. But well done for deciphering it. I would probably never have thought of an anagram as being partially initials!

Yes Qm  -  I guessed you might have 'missed the post', so  speak . . . hiding in the 'Sweet Tooth' thread.  'Babe Ruth' was brilliant  -  a close second!
