Spam - or not?

I have just received the following email - does anyone know if it is spam? I don't want to give anyone my password etc and then find out i have been "had".

THIS MESSAGE IS FROM OUR TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM This message is sent
automatically by the computer. If you are receiving this message it means
that your email address has been queued for deactivation; this was as a
result of a continuous error script (code:505)receiving from this email
address. Click here and fill out the required field to resolve this problem

Note: Failure to reset your email by ignoring this message or inputting wrong information will result to instant deactivation of this email
address

Oh thanks carol. I shall do that immediately. I'm so glad I asked, I knew someone would know.
Mick, are you telling me it is scam and not spam? I blame my age, I do get mixed up sometimes. Or are you telling me to delete?

It could be either, nut the fact it's asdking to click on something seems more scam than spam.

It's a scam - trying to get your personal details for sale or fraud.

Spam is just emails you don't want & didn't ask for.

Any message that asks you to give any personal details or to go to another website should be deleted, unless it's from a trusted source.

There are a lot of scams pretending to be from your bank or PayPal.

It could be from your bank asking for your account number and sort code because they have "lost" them

Never click on links from that sort of e-mail. If concerned, and accounts can be closed although this reeks of scam to me, then go to your e-mail provider's website, get the relevant contact address from there, then use it to ask them about the e-mail.

The only exception is if the e-mail comes from someone named Old_Geezer, then it is perfectly safe to give me, er I mean them, all your bank details.

If you get a message like this you're not sure of copy the first few lines and paste it into Google, there'll be plenty of responses telling you what it is. In this case it's a hoax spam email.
