Should i be worried
12 Answers
I have had the same problem for many years, a constant heartburn and distressing morning coughing on waking up, and though consulted with doctors over this time, nothing seems to make it better. Have been prescribed some medication but it doesn't help. Haven't ever smoked, but having read an article recently about a particular type of cancer, which alarmingly mirrors whats been happening, now don't know whether to go back to docs.

I am not sure about the exact figure, but check it by Googling.
By consitling with doctors i presume that you have had a gastroscopy (camera i stomach) and it that is the case, then Barrett's oesophagus will have been ruled out.
If you haven't seen a Gastro-enterologist then I would suggest that you do go back to your doctor.

i did some time back, and as far as i am aware was given the all clear, its just that having read the article about Barretts syndrome, oesophageal cancer it fits to a t, we can all do that i know, worry then cause ourselves more pain, but i've had too many people close to me die when they didn't get help, or left the problems they were having, not wanting to be a bother. It scares the hell out of me i know that much.
