Vodafone dongle

I'm using a voafone dongle to connect to the web, but it seems to work back to front. That is, if I click to connect and a blue light comes on and it says my connection is poor or very poor I get reasonably fast connections. However if it shows a green light and it says the connection is good, very good or excellent it takes an age to get each page up. Can anybody explain please?

Sounds like you are using it in a borderline place for 3G reception. so you are either getting a poor signal on 3G (which is fast) or a good signal on 2G (which is slow)

All you can really do is relocate the dongle to another place to try and get a decent 3G reception all the time. you could try a USB extension lead and put it near a window, or higher up.

Thanks chuck, only really use it at home, I'll try different locations and see what happens
