Would we have been better off by having a Tory/Labour coalition, taking into account their "hardline approach to tackling Islamist extremism"?

This approach, if it comes to fruition has "quashed Nick Clegg's argument for a more tolerant attitude to Muslim groups".

But it would seem it is a pity that Blair did not implement these measures when he was in power.

Alright just to keep you happy, you would not find these fact in the Guardian, now would you?

I was referring to the ideas and dangerous delusions usually labelled as 'christianity'.

If you are saying that christianity beliefs are synonymous with Labour beliefs I wouldn't quarrel with you, I'm not a supporter of the Labour Party either.

i tend to agree, i have posted a few questions, and got some decent feedback, but as i have seen with other sites, many people get carried away with their own agendas, not thinking that others might not feel the same, no different in the real world. I could argue the toss about Religion, Music, Art and sundry other subjects, some of which i am actually interested in, but can't be bothered now, because quite frankly i'm too old to play this game.

I have no problem with people having different views Em, but If someone posts (or says) something I see as intolerant or downright hostile, I will react.
By no means am I trying to 'force' people to agree with my point of view, I leave that to the dictators or wannabe dictators of this world and to me, it is not a 'game'.

So it can become argumentative but even that can be amusing when you're in the mood.

Just because you and those 'others' that you mention are not 'practising Christens' as you put it, does not alter the fact that we are still a 'Christian country'.

Read my post, I said that some of Dr Rowan Williams views are synonymous with Labour beliefs.

This is my last take on this, I read the DM so what, i don't care for any religion, and would ban them all if it was up to me, it's not, so i have to go with the flow. I do not like views or people who treat women like nothing, i am not suggesting anyone on here, but i have listened to people like Anjem Choudary, and many others like him. and consider that he is as dangerous as Hitler. Homophobia, sexual exploitation, religious intolerance are all on the increase, as are many diseases once thought to be eradicated, as much as one can. Not laying the blame at any door, but its been an uphill struggle in Britain, to get any kind of balance, and that is now shifting backwards. Its not because i read the DM that i object to the criticism, but to the fact i have my eyes and ears wide open, live in a capital thats fast becoming a place i no longer recognise, and can't say i like it.

True. But my point is that the 'established church' is bogus as most British people have moved on from the CofE and all the other dodgy incarnations of the Jesus-Cult.

All politicians of all persuasions talk a good talk when it comes to matters such as this. It makes them feel good and they believe (erroneously) that the electorate is fooled by their weasel words.

There are many hateful Muslim clerics living in the UK who clearly despise this country but move heaven and earth to stay here should their residency be threatened. When I see a few of them thrown out of their council houses and out of the UK I will believe the politicians' good talk. Until then I’ll do as I usually do, and ignore their rhetoric.
