No, I'm not trying to seek brownie points for my posts but! Just had a call from India I presume telling me my P.C Is infected even though I pay to Norton's, If I can, please be aware of these People either by your Land line or via your P.C. If you receive an email to the effect " DELETE IT" I understand once you commit yourself it will cost you £170 for sod all. BE AWARE.

Just look and see if "number withheld" is shown and if it is do not answer or simply tell them to remove your number immediately from their lists. Personally, my golden rule is if I want something, I initiate a call - never the other way round!
I often have a bit of fun by asking their name- are they having a good day etc. Then admit that I can't find my computer but I'll go and see if I can borrow one. Without waiting for an answer I put the phone down - but don't hang up. They're paying for the call so I leave them to mutter to themselves !
I have had two similar calls recently, each time they tell me that my computer is infected I act really surprised and say something along the lines of 'well that's strange' they then say something like yes that is why I am ringing you, and I then go on to tell them it is strange because I don't have a computer!, they can't get off the line quick enough haha, Even though we have several pcs/laptops in the house:)
