My mum who is 83 has just been told she has type 2 diabetes, its no because of her weight as she only weighs 8 stone. She has been given tablets but she keeps saying she feels as though she doesn't know what she is doing and feels confused. I think it is because she isn't eating the correct things, she always eats all her meal when she comes to my house but doesn't seem to bother when she is on her own. Does anyone know if there is a web site where I could find a typical days menu for someone with diabetes. Thanks.

Don't get too bogged down with diet's in the case of your mother, as all she needs to do is to carry on eating what she did before diagnosis, but less of it.

Make sure that her blood sugar is tested once a day at least, for the moment.

There are many websites and someone will suggest one, but my advice remains.
Go to the "Diabetes UK" web site. I'm sure there will be what you need there.
