Well yes this is still going on.! SIL went into hospital on tuesday for his stone to be taken out of his Bile Duct. When they got into it they found the stone had started to crumble so it may have gone through him anyway. Ok Last night they kept him in to keep an eye on him. This morning after a very rough night in pain they did an xray and have now said he has Pancreatitis.!! So have put him on pain killers. And have said he may be well enough to go home on friday.?? My daughter is worried sick and we are all wondering if the wedding is going to be on or off now on saturday.! What next I ask.!

What is pancreatitis?
Any inflammation of the pancreas is called pancreatitis.
Acute pancreatitis results in severe inflammation of the gland and patients may be seriously unwell.
Chronic pancreatitis develops either as the result of repeated attacks of acute pancreatitis or as the result of other injuries to the pancreas (see below).
not sure if this is of any help, but having had it, can safely say i was really ill

Update.........hospital did another Mir scan today will not know results until he sees the doctor tomorrow. Still is great pain and antibiotics by drip. Still not allowed to eat or drink. My daughter is so upset I hate seeing her like it. Why can't they give him pain killer that works.! There must be something.?
As said i had it several years ago, and i am convinced i still have problems in that area. I wasn't given enough pain medication at all, after the op, only paracetamol, then eventually i was given morphine, after i begged them to give me something stronger. I was on saline drip, food substitute i believe, all the time in hospital, you are not allowed to eat. Its a very Senstive area, and after the gall bladder was taken out, still wasn't allowed to eat, in hospital two weeks. Not a nice thing at all, my sympathies go to anyone in this situation.
