One of my mums jack russels has been attacked by an alsatian this morning . She had to be put to sleep. She was an old lady, the sweetest little thing. It was one of my sisters dogs that attacked her, well in fact she has three alsatians and they all had go. I am devastated, my sisters dogs have attacked her twice before, and they attacked and killed my aunts jack russel some years ago. My sister wont listen when we tell her they are a pack, she didnt keep them fenced in as we asked( we have lots of space, we are on a farm).I am so terribly upset, but I cant cry. I am not hard, and I loved little Sadie very much. I need to cry, but I cant.
Folk react to tragedy in different ways, not necessarily how they think they will. And a time progresses what you naturally do may change anyway. I'd not worry about not crying if I were you. It is a normal and not uncommon reaction.
One reason why i cannot and will not ever own a dog! I like them, but am terrified of taking them for a walk for fear of other dogs attacking them!
I hope you soon get over that nasty shock --thats an awfull thing to happen x
beattie - that is terrible, I am so sorry. I have always thought that 3 dogs living together form a pack, irrespective of breed. Apart from shock you may feel angry about the situation. I am sure the tears will come. (((HUGS))) ♥
Sorry if my response above seemed insensitive. Yes that is a horrible thing to happen - we all deal with stuff like this in our own way and in our own time, I hope you find a way to cope with it in the meantime.
Thank you so much for your kind replies.Id like to answer each one, but I cant right now.At least my mum wont have to be sad over losing one of her beloved dogs she has severe dementia, so thankfully wont even notice she is missing. I will miss Sadie loads, the other dogs are all acting oddly, they know something is wrong. Thank you all again, for caring x
commiserations to you and your sister four dogs going at once will leave a big gap.
Pour yourself a stiff drink and see if the tears will come i agree with ummmm you are still in shock. What a tragic thing to happen.
