Music for an elderly wedding
My father in law is marrying this Thurs and is getting in a tizz, as he has just been asked to choose some music for the civil ceremony. He is a lover of the big band sound, or 50's early 60's style music. He can't get his head around that nearly any sort of music is acceptable provided it has meaning to the couple and is looking at "Classical" style music. We have told him to calm down and pick his and future wifes favourite music but he wants some other appropriate choices. So has anyone any ideas from that genre or era that I could put to him to guide him. I have suggested Louis Armstrong "wonderful World" as an example. Very grateful to any answers

'Til There Was You' is a lovely song. It was written for the 1964 musical, 'The Music Man' and is most appropriate. There's also a Beatles version of it. There's also that lovely number from 'High Society', 'True Love'.
There are also some lovely, romantic big-band numbers that would be suitable. 'Moonlight Serenade' and 'String of Pearls' come to mind.
