whelshy we used to have a lot of fun poking at others prejudices. when we met someone who was obviously badly trying to get over their prejudiced thoughts we did out animal impression - we used to put our arms alternately (she is very black and i am very white) and say "of look we're a zebra". worked every time.
Lady-janine, i bet it did, and why would someone not serve you a black coffee, thats nonsense. I don't take milk, and always ask for black coffee but in these mega bucks, and costa packet coffee shops, you get Americano or a tiny coffee, so strong it would blow your hat off, that's if you were wearing one.
Personally speaking, for myself...... =)
How about ...

"I remember when ..."

If you are telling someone about a particular occasion, it is pretty obvious that you remember it.

Why would you need to begin by saying "I remember this time when ..." etc.
pan fried food. How else could it be fried other than in a pan?
You'll laugh on the other side of your face, and don't come running to me when you hurt yourself.
"So I turned round and said ..."

Why ?

Were you facing the other way ?????
"Warning: May contain nuts".... on a bag of brazils...
what amazed us was that we could order white coffee for her but mine had to be coffee without milk not black as this seen as offensive.

imo there are lot of ways to be offensive without asking for a black coffee. for heaven's sake the friend i was with was not green coloured. the whole logic, or lack of it, left us totally bemused.
LJ exactly, i don't use these places if i can help it. Mostly rubbish coffee, and worse service. And who the hell wants to drink out of a paper, cardboard cup anyway, very uncivilised.
I really thought executive summary meant the boss had written it as he was very clever and the others were not. (naive I know).
packets of butter that say "contains milk".
whatever next!!
