Quick form of photo ID
We are in the process of buying a new home and they are insisting on photo id for my wife.
She has no driving license and her passport has expired and we need the ID quickly to ensure no delays.
We are awaiting advice whether they will allow a solicitors/doctor letter with the expired passport to confirm that the likeness is correct but are there any other forms of ID that are legally accepted and are quick to sort i.e. days not weeks?
Passports take a couple of weeks minimum and the driving license site doesnt say.
Thanks.

They're not official, but your seller may accept it (why not ask?)

I assume that the proof of identity is required to meet the requirements of the Land Registry. In which case, instead of providing one type of photographic ID, your wife can provide two non-photographic types of ID.
