Car insurance for young men

My stepson is 21. He'll be going his driving licence soon. The insurance is horrendous!!!! Any ideas of which companies may give young men drivers better rates? TIA

usual tips are
small engined car, look for low insurance groups
adding an older experienced drived as a named insured driver.

there are some companies who are supposed to be cheaper as they add restriction such as a low mileage or only driving at certains times of day etc.

check out comprehensive insurance, it can sometimes be cheaper than third party

Thanks red.quote was on 1.2 l car. Tried putting my hub as named driver (but it's risky as hub already does alot of mileage. ) jeepers the insurance is more than cost of car!!!any other tips welcome please

you husbands mileage wont come into it really. As long as he has a clean license and more experience it should help bring cost down.
