Getting into America with cerain convictions
Hi
When i was younger (8 years ago now) I was charged and found guilty of Assult PC (i kicked a police officer) and Criminal Damage (this wasnt my fault - someone smashed a car window and i got the blame) i am now married and have 3 young boys and wanting to take them to disney.
I have read all of the other posts and guess if you dont disclose this upon entrance you have a 50/50 chance of getting in ( i dont know whether they have acc to these records or not, i wondering if its only the more serious or if you have been imprisoned?), but i'm looking to hear from anyone who has had such convictions and got in without problems (as in you put no criminal convictions on the form and chanced it) also if you have a similar record and tried to get a visa, did you get it ok without any problems? If anyone can help with ths as i'm going out of my mind with worry.
Many thanks

I went to court and as fined 250 quid and had a criminal record. I have been to Orlando 2008 and 2009 with no real problems.. The last time they done a check on me at the airport, they said it was random but they checked if i was staying at the hotel and my suit case etc.
I never said on the holiday visa I had a criminal record because i forgot about it and only really thought about it untill i read your post. I am planning to go to america next year again and I doubt I will tell them again.

If you have read there is a 50/50 chance of getting in, then why on earth do you think anyone here can give you a more definitive reply?
I shall never understand people who say I'd heard, I've read, I know ... then continue to ask - please state the reply you wish to get
If the answer you require is 'Yes, you'll be fine' then I can lie for you here. It's anonymous so I don't care if you come back to me and shout that I was wrong
Mike apparently 'forgot' he was a convicted criminal and manage just fine, twice
Search this section and the travel section for the many 100's (probably runs to 1000's actually) of questions asked and answered already - particularly answers by Beunchico or dzug
