Mains Electric Problem on Motorhome Fridge

My Motorhome fridge will work off gas, off the engine when it's running, but not when its put on mains electric power supply. As soon as mains is switched on,a red light flashes continously & fridge makes a clicking noise as it searches for another power supply. Power is getting to the fridge because when i open door light comes on.Im presuming the 12volts side of the system is working ok, which is needed to make the whole system work ,because it's ok when operated from a running engine. Tried different power leads. Fridge was working ok prior to me checking it out.I can manage using it off gas, but like the extra option. Fridge is Electrolux DometicRM 4505 Welcome any suggestions

The clicking noise could be the gas igniter trying to light the gas. I presume the switch is turned to 240v.
Have you checked the mains fuse to the 'fridge? The light may be coming on in the fridge from the 12v supply.
The only other thing I can think of would be the heater element has become disconected from the mains supply.

The clicking noise will be i reckon gas trying to light ( which is switched off ,or it would do) I had already checked mains fuse ( it's ok) I'm thinking it may be the heater element. Iv'e decided to go away next week so i'll use gas on fridge, & get it sorted week after. Cheers & thanks for suggestions
