y reg clio loud humming noise?

y reg clio loud humming vibrating noise coming from front of car,heard car could need gear box oil,where is location of gear box oil entry? theres no vibration thru steering wheel,so not wheel bearings,thought it was exhaust coz of noise,not that either,as i said noise is very loud when i go over 25 mph....might as well try cheap top up option first..........cheers

Cambelt needs checking
Auxilary belt
Water Pump while in cambelt area.
Cambelt critical to life of engine.

tell me -is the noise present with the engine running but still stationary ?

It's more than likely to be a wheel bearing, you might not get vibration through the steering wheel.

It 'could' very well be a wheel bearing .. but very loud wheel bearingf noise will usually be accompanied by vibration.
Cambely buzzz or clicking will result in a broken belt and screw the whole engine.
If you can't identify yourself .. get someone else to check it. I would think easy to find out.
