After long service our Dyson vacuum cleaner has died and will need to be replaced. I would appreciate opinions on what the new machine should be. Is the Dyson ball model as good as shown on TV or does it have limitations? Is it as heavy as the original cleaner? Alternatively is a Miele machine worth the extra cost? Any other suggestions as to other makes would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ditto to Boxy. I've used many types of Dysons, old, new, large and small, upright and cylinder and all have been rubbish.I clean a few houses with a friend and everyone seems to fall for the hype.Miele for me.Even a Vax is better.
To balance this up, I have two Dyson vacuum cleaners and my father has one - and all three have been brilliant. The latest Which? reports recommend (if you want a cylinder) Miele and if you want an upright Dyson, Miele or Sebo. The "ball" models of the Dyson are slightly lighter than the original type.
...and as for barb's comment "even Vax are better" - of the four cleaners that Which? say "Warning - Do not buy" , two were Vax. But, as they say, your money - your choice.
