Why is it that every shop I go in treats me (and everyone else) like an idiot. I took a prescription in today and was asked if I wanted to buy a phone top up card. In WH Smith's buying a paper I was asked if I wanted to buy any chocolate. In McDonalds I placed my order then was asked if I wanted a whole raft of things.
If I want to buy something, I will ask for it!!!!!!!!

Sign of the economic times we are in , businesses stuggling to keep afloat.
Haven't W.H.Smith got rid of those Galaxy Bars yet? Was it a job lot? a fire sale? Fallen off a lorry? They seem to have taken over the factory. Every time I go through Heathrow they're trying to get rid of them.
We used to have to ask for post codes and then have to explain why - marketing statistics, and no, nobody will come knocking on your door!
Perhaps that is the reason, brenda, why ^ 'McDonalds offer a whole raft of things'.

It pays to wait on CB and things will become clear ☺

Blimey Tara, you have wide feet lol
Comes from standing all day. Now I'm retired I should probably use my bum size - XW(ide)!
I always feel sorry for the assistants too. When you watch Dragon's Den and that bloke who owns Rymans is on it, he's always gives you the impression that he thinks he's really clever. Yet he can't work out that his staff's morale is going to go down if he makes them continually say the same phrase over and over again to every s**ding customer during their working day. Not to mention the effect on the customer themselves. I try to avoid shopping there on principle.
I hate it in our local newsagent I say pay the paper bill and no chocolate thank you. I dont think the poor shop asst has a choice they are told to do it, but where it used to be WHS only, they are now all at it !
I'll have the chocolate, if it is milk chocolate, not plain and half price.
I'll pass on the Morrison's saving stamps - at my age I may not be alive at Christmas to spend them.
My bank is no different, they ask me everytime i go in if i an interested in a loan, or something that they have on offer, and what gets to me is that some of them talk to me as though i am deaf, shouting at me
until i ask them to stop, or walk out.
My bank always wants me to invest in their dodgy schemes.
i am not by the way, but its when someone rings from gas and electricity company or the bank that gets up my nose, do i want to change supplier, get a loan, go on holiday, free interest, crikey how many times do you hear that. Hard economic times maybe, but many peeople are just irritated by this hard sell.
