Laptop Sound not Working

Hi all

Sound on my laptop has completely went - have checked the volume and it is up full but no sound coming out.

Maybe you have inadertently set it to mute. Check in bottom rh of screeen or in control panel.

Mr mac's sound went once after I installed updates. Try a system restore to the last time you know the sound was working.

.. or open the sound mixer panel and check selected correctly there .. and sliders up.

re-install audio drivers

if this nor any of the above suggestions work then if its onboard sound , the connector on the motherboard to the speakers may have come loose, in which case it can be re-connected.

Or motherboard audio chip is kaput , probably not worth repairing.

If by chance there is an internal sound card (unlikely) then replace that.
Otherwise its either a new laptop or get an external audio interface

forgot to say have you any sound from the line out/headphone socket ?
