Whst do you think of the new format? I hate it - TAB now has nothing to distinguish it from all the other magazines - and there was no fiction this week.
I wish someone in the printing world would go back to a magazine consisting of all short stories. I used to love Red Letter and other magazines of that kind. All gone now and in the dim and distant past. I wonder who decided that no-one wanted to read them any more.
Me too neti, which is why I stopped buying them. You can do the puzzles on the internet and I need cheering up, not wallowing in other people's misery.
I agree with Neti about the sick articles its like Jezza Kyle in print , and the puzzles etc are so easy peasy nothing to get the old grey matter ticking and theres even a web site that gives you all the answers !!!!!!only buy if going on a long journey now because you know you will finish all before you reach your destination and can launch it.Have you ever met anyone who has actually won a prize ?
all the womens weekly mags are the same... I liked them (and bought them) when they included craft ideas, knitting patterns and recipes not sex, violence, and stories about people dying in strange and tragic ways... and I am only 54
"Yours" is a good magazine. Can be a bit old-fashioned in places, but good puzzles and articles without any of the sleaze. Comes out fortnightly on a Tuesday.
Yes Dee sa I won £25 (the smallest amount) in one of them. It is a long time ago, so I cannot remember which one. I also got £200 in vouchers, which were easily disposed of, when I wrote a letter which they liked and they expanded on with photographs. Can't remember which one of those either - memory is not what is was, but it was either Take a Break or perhaps Chat, one of those simple to read mags.
