I injured my neck a week ago. The worst of the pain has gone but I am still in a lo of discomfort and this gets worse by evening. I can usually go all day without taking anything but as soon as I sit down the pain is bad. Its now down one side of the neck and onto my shoulder blade. I dont really see what a doctor could do about it and with 4 kids to look after through the day (as a childminder lol) its very difficult to get there anyway! Will it go away on its on do you think?

No I don't think....you need to see a physio so go to the doc and get it sorted!

How long does it take to get a physio appointment on NHS though? Months? Its so hard to get any time off work as I cant let the parents down.
How did you damage it tigwig - could you have damaged something or maybe trapped a nerve
Take the Ibuprofen 400mgms just in the evening, as you are pain free during the day. Ice pack or frozen bag of peas on your shoulder should help.

Yes it will go on it's own.

It was lifting one of the kids. I bent my knees but must have pulled something in my neck at the same time, I knew I'd done it straight away.
Thanks guys.
