I eat far too much bread, pasta, potatoes, rice etc.. so i've decided to cut them out of my diet for a week or so, has anyone done this and if you have, how did it make you feel? Sluggish or full of energy?
I have been doing the Harcombe Diet since February...lost a good bit of weight...and feel great. Before I started it,I was like you...all I seemed to eat was white carbs...and sweet stuff. But---no,I have never felt sluggish since giving up carbs. One of the principles of this plan is to get rid of cravings...which I have.
Cheers Pasta, I'm determined to give it a go, a few friends have been a bit negative about it but I think it's cause they need to give up their cakes lol..The Harcombe diet, what's that?
I read about it last year, and was a bit sceptical. But-it stayed at the back of my mind. After going on a severe junk food binge and gaining almost a stone in 5 months after my daughter went off to Oz, I thought it was time to do something. I started in Feb. and have lost over 21 pounds. Like Zeuhl-I've stayed off processed stuff, dropped sugar and caffeine...and I eat plenty. I now weight less than I have in over 20 years.
Thanks so much for your replies Zeuhl & pastafreak, great advice. I just feel lately i've been binge eating as I'm working long hours and a quick unhealthy snack has been the solution for months now and the weight has just crept up on me and i'm so tired all the time...fed up throwing my money away at weight watchers. I don't need to lose alot but I do need to get back in to shape.
i have my best weight loss weeks when i give up carbs, the best one being 8lbs! like when you give anything up your body misses it for the first few days but then you stop 'craving' it as such
