hi bos - how ya doing? - in theory if you click on 'latest post' I always understood it updated - but unless I open a thread, my latest post list stays the same - for hours and hours and hours zzzzz

thank you for the reply ed but the whole point of my query was that even when I click on where indicated in the instrucyion film nothing happens - I repeat, the only way I can get latest posts is to open a thread.

Which browser are you using? Are you blocking Javascript?

browser is IE and I haven't done anything to block anything! - the automatic and manual refresh has been working perfectly up until a couple of weeks ago when it simply stopped working.

have re-tried one of Buenchico's links and the problem is now sorted - thanks everyone for all the help (and patience with me!)
