Over the last few years we have acquired a fair few things that other people no longer require from our local recycling centre, the Freecylce web site and a few bits from auction.

Maybe AB should have a Recycling category just to promote their "green" side.

Anyway, these are just a few of the things we have acquired, mostly in the past 12 months.

We belong to the local Freecycle sites, and have both given and received. Great idea
are they your boobs ratter?
I intercepted exactly the same lawn mower as that from somebody who was about to dump it at the local recycling centre about a year ago... all that was wrong with it was water in the carb, a quick strip down and clean up of the carb and it run perfectly and got sold to a mate! some People these days have more money than sense so just throw something out for the smallest problems!
I found an old bike on a skip a few months back. Replaced the chain, and inner tubes, and put it on freecycle. Nearly 20 people wanted it.
p.s.... I got the grass collect box with the one I got too though :)
why would you do that though sandy - spend money on it then give it away?

I have also acquired an electric wood plane, a rechargeable drill with spare battery in near perfect condition.

The garden benches are great, the one with the new looking wood we got as just "bench ends" the cost of the wood was about £6.00 and we paid £5.00 at auction for the bench ends.

The curved bench was £5.00 at our local recycling centre, it just requires a bit of tender loving care and a couple of the slats replacing.

We got two holly trees from our local garden centre for £10 the pair just because they are not very good examples.

The Shed/Garage is the new project ( ijust wish I had time for a new project) I have to dismantle this and rebuild it. it looks a bit ropey but the timbers are all actually fairly sound, this garage bought new would probably cost around £3000 I get it for free but it will cost me £150 to rebuild allowing for a concrete base and a few bits of timber that may need replacing.

Chuck, I also got the grass collection box but I dont use it, my garden is a bit of a wild garden, not manicured, the grass clippings are left to rot down. I got fed up with emptying it all the time and I didnt want a huge mound of rotting grass.
It was just something to do. Not much to buy a chain and two inner tubes. I gave it to a chap who had an address which indicated he was a student. And that maybe made up for the bike I stole from outside the students union about 30 years ago.
