At last the BBC admits it was Left-Wing bias.

It would appear that they were afraid of raising 'sensitive issues'.

/// Sensitive or ‘taboo’ subjects such as immigration were avoided by the BBC for fear of being too right-wing, the corporation’s director-general admitted yesterday.///

/// Mr Thompson added that the BBC had a duty to address ‘sensitive and difficult’ issues a ‘significant proportion’ of the public wanted to hear about.///

That is except some ABers, who detest anyone who dares to raise these issues.

/// As a British, white, heterosexual man, the world is yours....You are one of the most privileged human beings on the planet. ///

That is a matter of conjecture:

'British, white, heterosexual man'

The group of people who must take all criticism without argument and are not allowed to be a "victim" of anything.

/// Perhaps if you were to ask your 'pertinent questions' without your pernicious slants, ubiquitous DM link or personal comment, you may be surprised at the answers you get.///

How arrogant can you get, am I not allowed to make personal comments now?

I am not going to alter my particular way of posting or be told what or not I can enter for debate, just to please certain persons.

We do live in a free country, and this is a site for debating on all issues that are reported on in all news publications, not just certain publication's news items, those which others agree with and demand one posts on.

We are not a fascist or communist state yet.

/// You seem unable or unwilling to recognise the difference between intelligent and reasoned criticism ///

What are you saying, there is actually a difference between an intelligent and a reasoned debate?

I would have thought that a 'reasoned debate' would have been an 'intelligent debate'.

And when it comes to your accusation of 'relentless finger pointing', is this not a prime example of 'the pot calling the kettle black'?
Do you ever get hold of the 'right end of the stick'?
What is it that you believe yourself to be a victim *of*.........exactly?
How does this victimisation manifest itself?
What detrimental impact on your life does it have?

I said that if you omitted the personal comment from your posts, you may find that the responses a little more pleasing to you.......your questions are usually so loaded as to disincline more moderate folks from replying to the matter at hand...

/// Never an intelligent debate simple name calling.///

That surprisingly enough is pointed at the Right-Wingers.

Have I got to do a search and post some examples of 'name calling' by the opposes of free speech?

But still many have been removed by the ED.

There are still many left though, believe me.
Go on then....

I could also say the same to you, but don't it work that way round?
I'm not the one complaining, daily (mail) of being misunderstood, misrepresented and mistreated.

By all means continue as you always have, but don't be surprised if nothing changes for you, on this forum.
Interestingly, one of the few facets that i share with AOG is that I too am a white heterosexual male, but unlike AOG, I am extremely grateful for the sheer accident of birth that has not only made me so, but destined me to be placed on this particularly free, safe, welcome secion of the planet.

Where we differ is that i do not see my accident of birth as some sort of right to say who should and who should not share my piece of planet with me. it does not entitle me to force my concept of 'freedom' on anyone, either by post and response on here - or by the armed forces of m country and its allies forcing it by military invasion and force.

I deplore the BBC for many many reasons, not least its namby-pamby avoidance of sensitive issues for fear of upsetting people, and remember that this admission is from a man who attempts to defend the Bejjing coverage by comparing it with the number of personel delivered by NBC - a channel which has viewers thousands of times greater than the BBC, and is a commercial channel, and therefore not beholden to its choice-free subscribers.

I do not believe that anyone on the AB 'detests' anyone who raises right-wing opinions - but may take issue with the way in which such views are presented and subsequently argued.
What he^ said! :o)
LOL jack!!! xx
i'm the same as andy, although my birth was no accident.

If this ios helpful Old Git

Here is the sentence you failed to read properly or simply misrepresented deliberately - who knows?

"You seem unable or unwilling to recognise the difference between intelligent and reasoned criticism and <relentless finger pointing> "

Not that difficult surely.
Is Switzerland still "open"?
<And when it comes to your accusation of 'relentless finger pointing', is this not a prime example of 'the pot calling the kettle black'? >

I don't think pointing out someone's repeated factual and grammatical errors or dishonesties can be described as <finger pointing>. They are simply opportunities for you to recognise your shortcomings and improve yourself.
I have had my run-ins with AOG - as have others on here, but i must take issue with the comments made by Zeuhl and DT crosswordfan -

this kind of comment is simply not acceptable on a site like this.

We ABers can - and do - disagree with each other on a regular basis - and spirited debate is welcome and encouraged, but i think you have both overstepped the mark considerably with your references to AOG in this fashion.

I suggest you both post an apology to AOG for your comments, and remain within acceptable bounds of debate when making observations about your perceptions of his responses.
