If I wish to change from Virgin Media to Sky, and been a long term customer, how long notice must I give to Virgin to cancel? TIA

Probably unsurprisingly, Virgin Media don't exactly go out of their way to tell you how to stop using their service, but digging deep into their website shows that the answer you're seeking is 30 days:
