Best Ratchet Loppers and Ratchet pruners?

Which titled items are the Best value for Money, Quality, Functionality and Reliability in your greenfingered opinion. I've been looking at the Alan Titmarsh and Am-Tech Platinum range. I've got some retirement gift cash to spend and lots of encroaching trees and shrubs to trim.

Thanks Albags, The ones on the web site are a bit pricey, I was thinking more about £24 for loppers and around £15-20 for pruners.

If that's all you can spend you may end up replacing them every few years about a tenner more will get you into the better ranges

best mid price pruners are probably by spear and JAckson or wilkinson sword loppers depend on how strong you are as some of the best ones are very very heavy again spear and jackson or fiskars I would get anvil pruners rather than bypass and buy a light weight bypass pruner for tidying shrubs as well. more important to find versions of all that you can use easily

I get Garden Answers magazine and every month they test to find the best fork, spade, trowel, mower etc. According to them best heavy duty were Alan Titchmarsh ratchet loppers from bulldog tools £27.99 rating 5 out of 5, Bahco 750mm bypass loppers from Quality Garden Tools £41.06 rating 4.5 out of 5, Wilko Loppers from Wilkinsons only £10.00 rating 4 out of five, and Premium Anvil loppers from Wolf Garten £49.99 rating 4 out of five. Best lightweight pruners, 210C carbon fibre loppers from Felco £114.99, rating 5 out of 5, Comfort Pruning Lopper 500 BL from Gardena £24.99 rating 5 out of 5, and Razorsharp Advance Geared lopper (21 INCHES) from Spear and Jackson £31.49 rating 3.5 out of 5. I have all the telephone numbers in the mag if you need them but would imagine you can find them online.
