tropical fish tank bulb

can anyone tell me if its possible to get a better bulb for my fish tank, im currently using a energy saver large eddison screw in bulb, but i would love a bulb that shows off the colours of the fish better and gives better light for the plants,

You can get ultra violet (black) bulbs but they won't give you any more light, in fact less.

A small fluorescent fitting with a grolux tube is very affordable and gives a nice soft purply light which enhances you fish's colours and aids the growth of the plants.
