Transfering partitioned hard drive

Can anyone advise how to transfer files from one side of a partitioned external h/d to the otherside ( Ext3 /to NTFS ) Ron.

If you have the EXT2 driver installed for windows then the two partitions should show as two seperate drives under my computer (computer on vista/windows7) in which case either open both drives at the same time and arrange both windows next to each other or just right click on the file on the EXT3 drive and select copy or cut* and then goto the NTFS drive and right click where you want the file and select paste

*copy will leave a copy of it on the original drive, cut will remove the copy on the original drive.
I missed a bit out the middle there....

I've had to partition the external H/D to 1 EXT3 / 2 NTFS. I now have my file transferred From Humax H/D to EXT3 but file is hidden, when I open My Computer I can only see NTFS partition & cannot see how to view other section ( EXT3)

S it possible to burn a DVD disc from partition in Ubuntu mode.?

With help from my techie g/son I have successfully transferred file from EXT3 to NTFS in partitioned external H/D in order to burn file to DVD. I have now done this BUT DVD will only play on Computer & not on DVD rec/player can someone explain please. Ron.

Success.After 2 attempts to burn a DVD I realized that the original file was in a format that would not copy to DVD so I put it through DVD Flick & have good results,so thanks again Chuck for your assistance. Ron.
