Would say The families, but it's appalling that they can hack anyone's phone.
Both (ii) is disgraceful and immoral (i) disgraceful and involves a threat to National security. It wasn't only the RF but also Brown as well 0 even though I can not stand the man for the mess he did, to target the PM of this country is appalling.

Am surprised that MI5 did not pick up on (ii).

Shame there is no White Tower and pikes on the gates to London for Murdoch Wade, Coulson and all the rest inc the police who have taken their dirty notes. Apparently £1000 for the BuckPal Green Buck with the land line numbers in.
sorry Book not Buck

When we heard about the families it was said there was worse to come. I agree with you the attempt to invade the privacy of the families was beneath contempt.
the apparent attempt to destroy evidence also counts as worse, in my book. Corrupting police is not great either, especially in the royal protection squad - who knows who that information might have been sold to?
also, though trying to hack the voicemail of grieving relatives is bad, it was the deletion of them on Milly Dowler's own phone that was really shocking.
I always thought the royals and top ministers would be protected by the Secret service, as part of their duties.
Just as bad, imo, is the paps using very long range lenses to photograph royals and celebs going about their private business, and those horrid upskirt photos of women getting in or out of cars.
The whole kit and caboodle stinks.

Hacking the phone and deleting messages from a phone of a murdered child (or adult come to think of it) is disgusting, despicable and if proved guilty, the hacker should rot in the darkest of places.
There certainly will be more to come but worse to come?

Not possible I don't think.
Hacking anyone is just wrong (save for properly done crime prevention purposes by the proper authorities). GrieI was going to say the same as jno's second post. It unnerves me they say that worse is to come, what could be worse???
without doubt, grieving families.
