Does anyone else think this is utterly wrong?

Now I appreciate cultures can differ and the need to control population growth but this reminds me of the 'win a baby' lottery I read about recently... what's going on?

bizarre, surely there are better methods of getting people to stop having children, sex education free condoms, birth control pill, for a start.
But is it any more strange than the news item here win a IVF treatment by lottery

@em10: I completely agree with you, I find it shocking that this could be considered a reasonable measure by any standard.
I was also shocked by the IVF lottery story but at least that one goes in the direction of helping people rather than taking something away like this... Either way I don't think mixing gaming and babies is advisable whatever the motivation!
Sounds like a better way of doing it than China's one child policy which has encouraged 10's of thousands of back street abortions and resulted in thousands of deaths as a result.

@ChuckFickens: Interesting you certainly have a point... But what if you don't win the car you end up with a handful of change and never again can you have babies... I think this is dangerous especially if people aren't properly informed about the risks involved (and their real chances of winning).
